18 pounds of cuteness baby!!!

Good evening!

This post will be more of a by-topic one.

Day's Summary
8:00am - wake up (that's cause I refused to go down until the NFL game was over last night)
11:00am - nap (90min)
(note the gap here where there is no sleep ... ouch!)
7:00pm - bedtime
And again tonight I extended my bedtime by 2 hours - Gosh I'm stubborn!

Milestones & Advancements

So I'm learning how to clap *I think*. I can put my hands together in a clapping fashion. Although my hands are still not open while I do it, I seem to do this over and over while excited. So hence, this is the start of clapping.

Now I noticed that I like to stand A LOT! And hang onto/touch things. So there goes the sitting and here comes the standing. Daddy
Today Daddy came home early and we had a blast!

Seperation - Anxiety?
My mom went out for lunch today while Jeni babysat me. My god I was super! I never even cried once. She was sooo much fun to play with. Thanks Jeni from mom & I!
Here is me playing outside with mom and Jeni and here is a video of me giggling with them.
Movement
Still shimmying backwards ... AND now I can shimmy sideways to get things. Mom learned today it is all about the right incentive. If there is something around that I am not allowed to have, I'll try and move to get it. If it's a toy that's around that I am allowed to play with, I'm a lazy little kid.

Last but not least - Mr. Ferber - What were you thinking?!
So my mom is trying to Ferberize me. For those of you who don't know who/what that is, here is an explanation:
Ferberizing means allowing your baby to cry for longer and longer periods of time each night before you briefly go check on her. At that point, you reassure her with your voice but don't pick her up, rock her, or feed her to calm her down. After about one week, a successfully "Ferberized" baby falls asleep by herself and soothes herself back to sleep if she wakes up during the night. She also can go to sleep on her own for daytime naps.
Seems that my mom can't take the multiple wake-ups at night anymore. She has tried every method possible and I'm just so determined to make these nighttime dinners a habit that stays!
Again, my poor sleep deprived mom. I bet she dreams of getting 8 consecutive hours of sleep!
I trick my mom all the time, you see I can fall asleep with no mobile, no rocking, no bottle, and awake in my crib. However, I do really enjoy the nighttime wakings! So mom - I'm not giving up without a fight!

Tommorow I'm off to the BabyBoom show with Shawna and her daughter Hannah (same name as me and a day older - weird!). Should be fun!

Have a super night!
Hannah
