Flinstones Gummy Vitamins Are Just SO Incredible!!!

(pictures of a sick Jakey ... as always smiling!)

Monday - I've had better days! Ced was still sick and stayed home which actually helped me a ton. I decided to take Jakey to the doctors again because he had a bigtime fever and seeing as how he is already on antibiotics there really shouldn't have been a fever. So at 10am it was off to the doctor's office with Jakey while Hannah and Ced hung out. Turns out the antibiotic Jakey was on wasn't working for his ear infection and it was still just as bad. So, a new antibiotic AND a consult at CHEO with an Ear, Throat, and Nose specialist - can you say tubes?

I came home and dropped Jakey off and picked up Hannah and headed to the drugstore - she loves loves loves the drugstore! And then back home again.

Two short naps later ... dinner, bedtime - yahoo!

Today, oh vey! It started at 6am. Crap man! It's been a while since I've had to do that. Reminds me again why 2 kids are enough! We played for what felt like forever then headed to the Tuesday Morning Playgroup. Jakey was super needy and Hannah was miss independant - they never coordinate these things.

After we headed to Bayshore to pick up a game, a fish, and some Cinnabons - not to mention lunch.

No nap later and we went to the movie store and Loblaws.

No nap later ... dinner, bath, and bed.

Cheers,
Sharon

round and round and round

Another day just the 3 of us :). Jake and Hannah woke at 6:30am. Ouch! We had a quick coffee, ok, I had a quick coffee, they had a short playtime/breakfast, and we were off!

We went to mooch off the Grosskleg's. Luckily they had pity for me and took me in. We all - 3 adults & 3 kids headed to Tim Hortons and then the park. Jake slept almost the whole time. Yahoo! And after the park we headed back to make a big mess in the house.

In a split decision, I decided to go to the Merlot to meet my bros, nephew, and parents. Thankfully Hannah G. had some cute dresses for Hannah B. Shawna did her hair and it looked so beautiful (we didn't even bathe her/wash it cause I'm keeping it as long as I can). And we headed back to Kanata so I could grab some clothes and get some for Jake and myself. Made it to the restaurant for 1pm with 2 non-napped kids. HOWEVER - the munchkins were awesome!!! Jake even fell asleep halfway through. The whole moving around thing was totally cool and they loved it. The food was superb to! And of course, the company was amazing. I love family!!! Hannah has fallen in love with Ian. She follows him around and will always go to him/with him. It's beautiful for me to watch.

We got home around 3pm and hung out with Ced for a bit - he's feeling a bit better. Unfortunately I was too pooped to address dinner so the 3 of us headed to McDonald's. Yummy.

After dinner, a couple meltdowns later, both were sleeping by 6:45pm - should make for an early morning rise - bleach. Jakey wasn't so hot before bed. Cheers to a happy (and hopefully healthy Monday)!

Cheers,
Sharon
p.s. Some new can-do's - Hannah can get into the car on her own, and climb into her seat - all I have to do is open the car door! Funky! Jake has no more use for being on his back and rolls immediately and sits. Funky! Jake is on 50% milk now. Funky!

family - that's where its at.

Finally some relief! Keep reading to find out why.

Friday after I posted (which by the way was a terrific coffee time because the 2 angels played nicely) we left for the Children's Museum. It was fun & not-fun. Jake loved it, Hannah loved it - and hated it - she probably whined every moment she wasn't smiling. My patience was already gone by 11am. She's finding it hard now with Jake moving and taking a lot og her personal items and invading her personal space. So she whined, whined, and whined. I started talking to her and asking her to use her words and to stop whining. By the end of the day I think she just stopped whining because there was no point. In fact, today she didn't whine at all!!! It was super. Not sure if this was just pure luck, but it was really great and nice to see something I did/worked on actually work!

Jake's getting much faster! Crazy.

So yesterday after the Children's Museum we came home and rested the rest of the day. At night I headed out with Riley for drinks at OCP. We had super fun - chatted, had some drinks, and made fun of the Kanata night life :)

Got home late, Ced was/is sick, and woke up with the tykes this morning. We did have a super fun day just the 3 of us. Starbucks, followed by the Agricultural Farm (see the photos on the side of this page). Hannah loved loved loved it!!! She thought the animals were so funny, chatted with them, and addressed them as friends. Too cute. Jake was pretty enthralled to.

After we headed to Play Value to jump on their trampoline and play with their toys. Hey - it killed 20 min. so we could then meet the grandparents for lunch at East Side. Both kids were super amazing during lunch!!! I couldn't believe it. Normally when you start lunch at 12:45 kids aren't too pleased. But both kids were just awesome. Totally incredible. And they ate tons -which is nice as my daughter isn't eating much lately.

We came home for Jacob's nap then it was off to Amanda & Ian's for dinner. It was so nice of them to do. I was exhausted and to be able to have this incredible dinner served to me was just so thoughtful and exactly what I needed. Ellard can now pull him self upright completely. He'll be walking soon - he's extraordinary!

Ok, I'm off to relax with my House & diet Pepsi.

Cheers,
Sharon

gates are for the ambitious, chairs for the lazy

It's daycare day it's daycare day ... oh yay. That's what I sing every Thursday morning. Hannah had a rough time going to daycare - AGAIN! I think she just does it for me - a cute little show. She was fine 5 min. after I left. My day was incredible! I came home with Jakey and we played for a bit, then he napped while I shuffled around. It's funny because when we are home Jake naps, when we are out, he doesn't, but he never changes regardless. I love it!

Then it was off to diapers/wipes/etc. at Walmart. I hate Walmart. I really hate Walmart. And oh la la off to Baton Rouge for lunch with Angie. Jake was super! Ate the first hour then fell asleep so I could enjoy my coffee - I love him!!!

And we picked up a very Happy Hannah!!! She was super cute - especially cute - so totally cute.

Home for some play/backyard time, a little game of war between the two munchkins, and some grub and night night! Hopefully today my bigger monster doesn't harass my little monster.

I also got the joy of heading out last night to meet Shawna at the Golden Palace for yummies!!! I love that place. I wish they delivered.

Anyhow, we are off to the Children's Museum today - and I'm still looking for a babysitter tonight - help?!

Off to have a coffee!

Cheers,
Sharon

officially on a whining strike!

Yesterday was pretty fun! Hannah and Jake didn't wake until well after 7am (which was a nice treat since Jake has been rough in the sleeping department lately). I quickly got our stuff packed up for the park/picnic we were off to and we were out the door by 8:30am. A quick stop to Farmboy to pick up some ready made food and then it was off to Brenda's to pick her and her two sons up. Two adults and 4 kids later we arrived at Brewer Park. Cold, windy - mwah. After about 30 min. it started raining so we left and headed to Cosmic Adventures - again. Hannah and Keith chased each other around (Keith is 4) and Jake and Judah chilled in the kids areas.

We didn't head home until 2:30ish - Hannah was pooped! No nap though - god forbid she sleep :(.

Some fun playtime outside with the water toys and then once again - it started raining.

Bedtime came way too soon! Both in bed, asleep ... I was off to the Casino - had an itch.

I tried the new Digital Poker - holy cool! So much fun! However the no-limit freaked me out. I did end up winning about 100$ at Poker. Then it was off to Blackjack. Collected another 300$ there ... I should gamble for a living - NOT. All and all it was a great night and since I was the big winner out of us who went I owe my friends a stinking dinner.

Uh oh - I hear kids waking up! Off to start - DAYCARE DAY! Yippee!

Cheers!
Sharon
p.s. See - Jakey is getting faster :)

ear - ear - again? ah no.

Sometimes I feel like time is passing me by - on fast forward! As well, I spend more time in transit than I do in my own house. Today I was planning on going to go to playgroup in the morning followed by an afternoon of hanging out in the backyard playing with the toys/water/paints.

INSTEAD ...

9:30am - Amanda & Ellard came to watch Hannah while I took Jake to the doctor's office. Oddly enough - Cedrik was right - another ear infection! And we were off with some antibiotics. Fun times. Got home around 11:30am, had lunch, Jake napped, Hannah had some down time, and I did 'stuff'. Around 2:30pm my cousins came over. Alex & Emma & their 3 kids - Tahlia, Cody, and Josh, live in London England. They are in Canada visiting family for a week. It was a packed house! Lots of backyard time.

We all headed to Jack Astors for dinner. Hey Shawna - it was a repeat with Jake - guess antibiotics take a couple of days to work. Thankfully he slept most of the dinner before yelling his lungs off! And - at home Hannah was extremely irritable, at the restaurant she was super well behaved - funny.

I'm pooped. A quick bath, a very quick sleeper time, and poof - 2 sleeping! Hopefully Jake sleeps all night long!! oh please.

Cheers,
Sharon

parking here.

Ok, so I've gotten caught up with life and had no time to 'blog'. For the next while I'll be writing and posting pictures here. Once I get things rolling again, I'll try and move back to the old space.

Today. It was a long one. Last night I was up form 12-3am with Jakey - not sure what gives but for a kid that never wakes at night, I'm sure it was something. Then this morning started with a bad pone message left first thing (do they not understand it's Monday?!), then I found out that a really terrific guy I used to work with passed away in a motorcycle accident, and off to Cosmic Adventures it was :)

We met Shawna & Hannah G. at Cosmic, and like clockwork, my father showed up to see his grandchildren - oh yeah, and me to. Jake was really under the weather at this point. So clingy and just uncomfortable. Hannah for the first time, went through the tunnels all alone, unprompted by me. So I got to sit and have a drink while she played, Jake slept, and my feet rested.

For lunch we went and met up with Amanda & Ellard at their new digs downtown. Tracy, Charlie, and Jackie joined us as well as we all headed to Father & Sons for a beverage and grub. At this point Jake was pretty messy! He's never actually cried through a whole meal unless you count that one time at Kelsey's. He wouldn't even eat the fries!

Finally home. Unfortunately things with Jake just got worse. After bedtime, he woke with hives. Fun eh? That combined with the fact that I think he has an ear infection led me to a hospital visit with him at 11pm. 6 hour wait - mwah. I went outside to get some air and his hives went away. They seem to be temperature triggered. So a couple of rude staff later we headed home.

This morning he's pretty rough - again, McConville to my rescue puhlease.

Off to get this party started - Tuesday - only good happens on Tuesday's :)

Cheers!
Sharon & Munchkins.
