SEX AND THE CITY TONIGHT!!!

Omigod! Well, just when I thought Jakey was going to be slower in the moveable category than Hannah - he shocks me!!! After standing up once Sunday, he's taken off! Tries to stand on everything. Maybe 1/5 times he lets himself down ok, the other 4/5 times he either cries for me or falls. He's even cruising around things - who knew he could even walk? His legs just seem to know what to do.


Hannah, my beautiful young princess has really started embracing the big sister role. She feeds Jakey now, kisses him when he's hurt, gets him toys when he's bored, cuddles & hugs him when she feels like it, and always makes sure he comes with and he gets anything she does. They play together a lot now. It's really cute to watch!

Tuesday we headed to playgroup first thing in the morning. Then home for lunch/relaxing time. In the afternoon, Brenda and her boys, Jen and Sydney all came over for some playtime. 5 kids + 3 adults = minor chaos. But it was fun. Then Avi came over and Hannah, I, Jakey & Avi went to meet my brother Ian, Amanda, and Ellard for dinner at Baton Rouge. Yummy! Ellard and Jakey played cutely together and Hannah did her own thing. At a 6pm dinner downtown I'm just glad she didn't get up and yell the whole time :). As a bonus, Jakey fell asleep on the way home so we transferred him to his crib - Hannah - not so much!

Today we headed to Cosmic Adventures bright and early. Hannah just loves it there - and I think Jake to now. Jen & Sydney met us there and the girls, once again, were fascinated by the video games. Fun stuff. After Comic, we all headed to meet my dad for lunch at Dunns. I love love love their smoke meat!!! And of course, Hannah and Jakey loved their fries & hot dogs. After Hannah finished feeding Jakey her ice cream, we headed home for Jakey's nap. Hannah helped me get stuff done. Then we headed to the Superstore - who knew it would be sooooo much fun! Even with no seatbelts, they stayed in the 'cart' - I was sooo impressed! And as usual, some play/bath/bed/done :)

it's totally exciting!

So Jakey has totally taken off in making forward/upward progress! Today he practiced his stairs. Although he ended up falling a lot - seems when you sit in the middle of climbing and fall backwards you start to dislike the climb!
Another cool thing - Hannah realized she could feed Jakey - very cool for me, her, and him!! From now on anything I should be feeding him - Hannah can do it :) She loves to help.

Today was yet (shockingly) another busy day. This morning we headed to the Active Play Center with Shawna, Hannah, and Nancy (Hannah's grandmother). It's a really cool place - for adults & kids!! Finally not a 'kiddie' like place.
Then we headed to Walmart to pick up some stuff and grab some Happy Meals.
When we got home, Jake had a bit of a nap. Then it was off on a mission - to find puddles!! The bigger the better!
And a short jaunt to Bayshore to get me .......... wait for it ..... a new/smaller/no kid looking diaper bag! After 28 months, I've put away/thrown away/given away all my diaper bags!!! I'm done. In fact, Done with a capital D.

Happy Sunday!

I can't believe it's Sunday night already. I feel like it just was Sunday! Crap.
I've been pretty much on the go for a couple of weeks now and I think it's catching up to me!

Interesting Stuff:
*I'm off to dinner and Sex & The City Thursday night! Oh yeah!
*Jake pulled himself up to standing today for the first time! Oh yeah!

So what's been shaking ... what oh what.

Friday - Headed to the grocery store in the morning. Finally got the much needed groceries! Then it was off to Al's Aquarium store to look at the sharks. And a yummy lunch at Scores. Sydney and Jen joined us for the morning. On the way back to the car after lunch it started to pour! At the same time, both kids looked up at me and we all started laughing! Seems rain can make anyone happy. In the afternoon we hung out around the house. At night, I went to a Fund raiser with Del - it was fun, we stayed kind of late - oh well, it was worth it.

Saturday - I headed out with the kids to the Carp Market while Ced shot 9 holes of golf nearby. We met up with Patrick, Charlie & Julie at the Market - got to try Bacon in a Bun - yummy! Patrick and Hannah soooo have eyes for each other! It's super cute to watch. Hannah just follows Patrick's every move in a flirty/shy way. And, she even smiled at Julie - and for all who know Hannah know that's a big deal. An odd thing happened at the market - Hannah and Jakey didn't care about it much - they played with each other most of the time (that is until Patrick wisped Hannah of her feet:)). It still melts my heart each time they play together! We met up with Ced and Mike for lunch at the Chesire Cat - I love it there! In the afternoon we played outside with no naps - urg. Kids were asleep by 6:45pm - just in time for the sitter and off to O'Connor's with Mike we headed to enjoy some drinks.

Today - We headed to Ced's parents for breakfast bright and early. Then off to a park near their house for a lot of play. Then after almost no naps, the Grosskleg's came over for some bbq and fun! The girls played/expended so much energy! And they were super good to Jake to. Some yummy food, a dog, followed by some ice cream then we all called it a day!





Cheers to it being Sunday night ... Yup.

stepping up.

It's always a longer week when it's a shorter one! How is that?!
Everything just feels long, drawn out, I think it's cause you expect it to be Friday really soon - but forget there are still days before it.
My tv season is slowly dwindling away, with the Season Finale's of One Tree Hill, Grey's Anatomy, House, and ANTM I've freed up some nights!

So I've had three jam packed days in a row. The type where you leave first thing in the morning and return at night with two very tired kids.


Tues (9am-8pm).
Playgroup - with the gang (it was ok)
Dunns - lunch with my dad & bro (very long - 2 hr lunch!)
Cosmic - with shawna & hannah (those arcade games rocks!)
Lonestar - dinner with my dad, bro - Ian, sis-in-law, cousin Ellard, bro - Avi (soooo much fun!)

Wed (9am-8pm).
Kidzone - with Julie-Charlie & Patrick, Jen-Sydney, Tammy-Taylor (a nice relaxing time)
Filthy's - lunch with Julie-Charlie & Patrick (Pattie & Hannah are super cute together)
Jen's (relaxing)
Walmart & McDonalds (crazy productive)

Thurs (9am-8pm)
Daycare - Hannah from 9-11:30am (she was sad to go but happy to see me)
First Choice - Hair & Eyebrows (yay - long overdue)
Grandma & Grandpa - lunch at their place (very fun!)
Jen's (hustle & bustle)
Diego Show at Scotiabank Place - with Jen-Sydney (Hannah loved it, Jake LOVED it, I thought it was cute)
Grey's Anatomy - at Shawna's (wow - McSteamy)

home for a rest!

I'm pooped. Seems right now I haven't stopped in weeks. Although it's only been one.

Thursday, dropped H off at daycare - no problems! Fantastic! I think now my biggest problem is that Jakey misses her. He isn't the same during the day. J and I hung out in the morning and met Avi for lunch. Then it was off to pick H up around 3ish. It took me 30 minutes to get her off their playground!
They built a new structure and Hannah was soooo happy that wouldn't leave. I had to bribe her with the movie store! So we did errands then came home, then I put the kids to bed and headed out to meet a friend for drinks at Filthy's.

Friday we headed to the park to meet up with Brenda-Keith & Judah, and Jen-Sydney. The Kanata Lakes Parks are very nice. I like the wood structures so much better than plastic! Then we headed to Brenda's for lunch and play. Hannah again, was pretty upset when we went to leave. I guess coming home to her toys isn't much fun?!
At night, I took the kids to Filthy's for dinner to meet my friend from London. The kids, again, were superstars. Yahoo! I was pretty nervous in that environment. Like the good mom I am, I brought the kids home after dinner, put them to bed, and headed back to Filthy's to start the night kids-free. It was a fun time!

Saturday we headed to the Walter Baker Park bright and early with the kids. Amanda and Ellard met up with us there and we all went to East Side's for lunch.
In the afternoon I took the kids to Dawn's Baby Shower while Ced worked. That was a little tough. I don't think kids like going to baby showers - I got the point 5 minutes in when they started to play chase. Good times!
A little McDonalds drive-thru on the way home and put the kiddies to bed and Ced & I headed to Amanda & Ian's for some Rockband/Bingo! I won on the second game 24$ - very cool! Thank god Amanda saw it :)

Sunday we had the McQuinn's over for a bbq. Their daughter Shayla is almost 2 and Cora almost 4. The kids ran wild and ate lunch at the picnic table - very cute to watch!
In the afternoon we had Ian & Amanda & Ellard over for a bbq - Jakey ate in the bumbo - we couldn't find the spare high chair. Right after dinner, Amanda & I headed to Bingo again! We let the boys clean up/put the kids to bed - naaaice. Although I didn't win last night, it was super fun!

Today - rain & ... well, most of the morning the kids played on their own so I could get the
laundry/dishes/cleaning/organizing done ... BUT ... My amazing sister (in-law) and brother asked me if I wanted to meet them at Cosmic Adventures with Hannah and Jake and they'd help me! Wow! I was at Cosmic within the hour!!! Ellard loved the ball pit & slide, Jakey, well, just smiled and chased balls, and Hannah was SUPER happy! It was super crowded but totally worth the trip there.
After, we just chilled - ate - bathed - bed. Then I got yummy Pho!!

News & Notes:
1. Jakey can now eat an apple whole. No need to cut it up/peel it. Just give one to each kid and poof - a snack.
2. Hannah, if asked where she wants to go, says 'Cosmic' - this is the first time she's shown
forethought.
3. When passing a movie store now Hannah says 'movie please' - this is the first time she identifies the place with an action.
4. When Jake cries, or is upset, Hannah now says 'JP sad' and kisses him - this is the first emotion Hannah has discovered. We are working on fun now.
5. Jakey is officially a big boy! Well, in my opinion. He's no longer on formula, jarred food, baby
cereal, or bottles. It makes life so easy - leave the house with just 2 diapers, wipes, and 2 sippy
cups!!! 10.5 months later life is easy again!
