Finally!!!!

Jakey. Good 'ol Jakey.

Yesterday morning Jakey woke up - cranky - again. Mwah. In order to avoid the cranky whining (of which started with my husband at 3am) we headed off to Jen & Sydney's place to seek refuge. Jake though, even there, continued his constant high pitched whine. Mwah. Hannah had a blast though.

We headed to East Side Marios for lunch. Jake fell asleep in the car on the way so for the first 30 min. he slept on the bench beside me. Then he awoke - in a VERY loud manner!!! Not good. About 2 min. later my dad showed up. Hannah was extremely excited! Jake on the other hand put on quite a show. So loud, so not like him. Normally he's a superstar (unless I'm at restaurant with Shawna). I left the place pretty frustrated. Extremely frustrated. The next 2 hours were the same. A lot of whining. Very frustrating - I was sure his ear wasn't getting better - I really felt defeated, like a bad mom that couldn't heal her son. Rarely do I feel that.

Just in time, I got a phone call from a friend (fondly a friend) who volunteered to come over and help me/give me some relief!!! I was so thankful/grateful! Hannah had a blast playing with Keith and Judah was super cute trying to pop the bubbles. Brenda held Jake and he was ok - that was a relief! Until that point in the day I couldn't even put him down without a crying fit.

A very quick bath/bedtime (after a very funky hailstorm) and the kids were both asleep - sadly at 6:30pm. So, I called and left a pathetic message at the doc explaining to them that my son was STILL not himself!

This morning I woke up with a *only* slightly cranky little man and happy little girl. Both were awake at 6:30am - mwah - so early. After what felt like a whole day (was only 3 hours) I dropped Hannah off at daycare. There is a new girl working there now to replace the irreplaceable Aleisha. It's hard for Hannah. Aleisha was just incredible. Luckily Leesa (like that spelling?) was/is there and Hannah adores her! After Hannah was all happy, we left and took Jake to the doc to re-check him. The doc said he was getting better - I didn't believe him. So, we left and I fed Jake lunch then off to nap.

OOOOH LA LA!!! When Jake woke, he sounded cranky - but then - HE WAS BACK TO HIS OLD SELF!!! He ate tons of food, giggled, smiled, didn't cry when I left the room, and played independently.

We headed off to pick up Hannah and have a fun trip to the movie store - what a super place for kids :).
Hannah and Jake played together (Jake chased Hannah around and tried to take everything she had) for a while then it was a hardy dinner for both and to bed.

Silver lining - I discovered that if I put Kraft Dinner on Jake's high chair tray he can pick it up with his hands and eat it. Money!

Cheers!
Sharon
