happy new year!

it's going to be hard to top 2009!!! but cheers to this year being even better - if that's possible!

(some of this written a couple of days ago - A moment to breathe. That's now :). As I sit here writing this we are all watching the Hangover at Ced's parents while the kids play around and selectively watch parts they think is funny. I'm so not winning parent of the year award! What a fantastic movie! A great way to follow a totally awesome night. Although I'm super hungover ... oh my. )

So we went to the coolest party birthday party last Monday! Sydney Gibbons had her party at the field house at the Senseplex. They played soccer, did crafts, ate, had cake, and made balloons. Also, they had a lootbag for Jakey to! That was super awesome! Then we hit Angie's for some snacks/wine, and finally off to Dunn's for dinner to meet my dad. Yummmmy! My first steak at Dunn's - it was actually amazing!

Tuesday we did the coolest thing - we went to the Sassy Bead Company and made necklaces. We met Harriet, Ella, Abby, and Sophie there and Hannah and Ella made the (not so) prettiest necklaces! It was also super cheap considering it was 2 hours of fun. Then we quickly headed home, picked up Jakey, Ced, and Mike and headed to meet Kenny and Danielle at the Merivale Bowling Alley. 5 Pin - better for the kids! Of course we had drinks after :). So at night I headed out to meet Sarah for a drink at Darcy MaGees! She has to be one of the coolest people I've ever met! I came home beaming and it was a nice end to a great day!

Wednesday went by pretty quickly. Before I knew it it was time for lunch - Hockey Sushi - with Kayla! It was super yummy! Then we dropped off Hannah at Harriet's. Harriet had some family in from out of town and they were all heading to the Museum of Science and Technology and they took Hannah with them to. And, by coincidence, Ced took Jakey to the Museum of Avaiation then his parents. 5 hours of free time at home! Although I cleaned, tidied, organized, and did stuff to keep busy - by hour 3 I was getting lonely and it was too quiet. Finally around 5:30pm the troops started arriving home. 6:30pm Steph arrived to watch the kids and Ced and I headed out. We met my dad, bro, and Amanda at Giovanni's. Yummy wine and food! Ken and Danielle met us for drinks after at Giovanni's then a drink at Heart and Crown. No joke - it was packed on a Wednesday night! We got home too late.

New Years Eve!!! The day was long and full of getting stuff done. Trying to get into the stores to do errands/buy booze. Not so much luck on that end. Ella came to hang out with Hannah in the morning - Jakey was pretty excited about that to. Finally 7pm arrived and our friends came over and we have a couple of drinks! 8pm - Steph came and we all left for Fratelli's. Ok, so the night started having some blank spots at about 9pm. From what I recall, dinner was awesome! Angie and Mo's was terrific! 6am the next morning - not so good! 7pm the next day when I heard about all I did - poor. Aparently I danced up a storm, was really touchy-feely, and was quite the partier! Everyone was, I just don't remember it. It's been a while since that's happened. But I do have to say - Best New Years EVER!!! I'm very lucky!

The Hangover - in 2 ways. 8am - Kayla arrived to hang with the kids while I got more sleep ... 8:15am - Kenny messages cause he needs a lift to our house where his car is. By 9pm Kenny and Danielle were at our house, Kayla left shortly after, and by 10am we were all drinking coffee and hanging out with the kids. Oh my. 11am - dumbest thing ever - McDonalds for lunch and I had the filet o fish as a joke. It was so funny 4 hours later! Danielle and Kenny left around noon and at 1ish we headed to Ced's parents for movie day. First movie, The Hangover. I'm not winning any parent of the year awards for letting the kids watch it. Second movie Extract, same with that. Then a super yummy dinner and home it was. Jakey didn't even make it home without falling asleep. The kids seemed to be exhausted! I guess with the late and staggered bedtimes they are just coping.

So finally Saturday ... by 8am the kids were at Sobey's with me and their carts finally getting some groceries! Much needed. Then home, Bayshore, Costco, and out for dinner with the Tatar's at night. I think if it's possible, Hannah and Jakey love Angie & Mo more than us. Seriously. They were in heaven! We are totally super lucky to have such great friends who put up with us and adore our kids. So Ced and Jakey were asleep first last night followed by Hannah, then I.

Coffee (especially right now) is crucial,
Sharon
